Position objective: Support Conference Center AV and Digital Media Services
Description of type of work/area of focus: The “AV and Digital Media Intern” will:
1) Assist the Digital Workplace Technology Specialist (DWTS) to monitor and maintain AV tools in ACT’s Ferguson Conference Center and conference/huddle rooms throughout ACT’s Iowa City Campus (AV tech support);
2) Support DWTS and Business Support Specialist (BSS) to deliver conference center services as needed (meeting setup/resource support);
3) Under direct supervision, support camera services and media processing for high-priority events and occasional special projects; and
4) Collaborate with Corporate Services team to develop communications supporting effective use of AV and other technology at ACT.
Education: Currently enrolled and pursuing an undergrad degree in Mass Communication, Radio/Television/Film, Digital Media, Business, Theatre/Performing Arts, or a related degree program.
Experience Requirements/Preferences: Experience working in a hotel conference center, or other business support operations a plus. Experience with video, audio, live performance/theatre, or broadcast media a plus. Basic understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro or other digital media authoring software a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Applicants should be comfortable using and troubleshooting computers and digital technology of all kinds; should be comfortable using basic office technology (email/IM, Outlook calendar, Word, Skype/Teams/Zoom); should be capable of lifting ~25lbs; should possess vision and hearing necessary for image/sound quality control.
