    Manage team responsible for design and development of learning solutions for customers and other stakeholders using ACT products.




    Typical work-related activities include:

    • Maintain collection of interactive training resources for both internal and external consumption in ACT’s Knowledge Hub and Product Support Catalog
    • Manage design of standard and customized learning solutions against identified needs, using various mediums, creating modular, sustainable programming
    • Help determine and develop a dynamic and positive customer oriented experience within all programs, processes, and procedures
    • Schedule, assign, and monitor work schedules to assure projects are completed in an efficient and timely manner
    • Manage vendors as appropriate for development of learning solutions
    • Develop customized learning solutions while solving complex problems
    • Marshal resources and lead technical inquiries to implement learning solution sets
    • Develop and implement learning standards, processes, and best practices to ensure consistency across the organization
    • Analyze and recommend potential solutions for all learning venues
    • Work with a high degree of autonomy to execute plans to produce, maintain, and improve learning content across a continuum of K-12, post-secondary, and workforce services
    • Independently design and develop content with varying levels of complexity to meet diverse customer needs
    • Advise and collaborate with customer-facing team members throughout ACT
    • Maintain quality and security control on instructional design activities
    • Lead programs, projects, and initiatives as assigned
    • Propose and implement recommendations for improvements relative to market demands
    • Participate in the hiring and mentoring of team members
    • Maintain deep knowledge of ACT’s products and services and key competitors to ACT’s products and services
    • Maintain advanced working knowledge of learning principles and theories for face-to-face, online, and blended instruction
    • Maintain deep knowledge of education industry and assessment business
    • Attend and actively participate in ACT meetings, as directed
    • Provide progress reports as scheduled by manager
    • Maintain expertise in subject area and recommend improvements in curriculum design
    • Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in making work-related decisions
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with ACT staff members and ACT clients
    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding corporate information



    • Bachelor’s degree in a related area required; preferably in learning technologies
    • Master’s degree preferred
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired



    • Minimum of five years’ related experience required, preferably from educational field experience at the elementary, secondary, or postsecondary level and/or developing training or other professional learning content for adult learners
    • Experience in technical writing or information design preferred
    • Experience in management of business unit or team required
    • Knowledge and experience with Americans with Disabilities Act (508c) compliance requirements preferred
    • Previous experience and demonstrated success leading, managing, and building teams required


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficient with the following technology: Captivate, Muse, Dreamweaver, Audacity, and various Adobe applications, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Sharepoint required
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design required
    • Agility and flexibility to quickly shift gears, moving between several unique job families and roles
    • Video production, screen recording, etc.
    • Using various technologies for the delivery of instructional and/or interactive programs and courses
    • Listening, speaking and writing skills
