    The Lead Vendor Manager proactively builds and manages complex vendor relationships, drives operational performance, and partners with internal teams to optimize vendor performance to meet ACT strategic objectives in accordance with ACT’s vendor management model. Primary responsibility is to ensure a consistent, transparent and efficient approach to meet business area performance objectives through the establishment and maintenance of sustained relationships, processes, expectations and alignment between multiple key stakeholders and the vendor. This is done by maintaining a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the vendor’s day-to-day commitments and obligations to ACT, educating internal business stakeholders on ACT’s and the vendor’s obligations, and being accountable for vendor performance across the Enterprise throughout the life cycle of the vendor engagement.   The Vendor Manager will collaborate closely with Category Teams, including Strategic Sourcing and Contract Services, to verify that vendors meet the needs of the organization, adhere to business standards, protect business assets and comply with existing contractual requirements. This role will continuously seek opportunities to bring together individuals with different perspectives and opinions, drive all parties toward a common goal and establish strong relationships across all levels of the organization.



    Typical work-related activities include:

    • Work as liaison between vendors and the organization. Review and negotiate terms of vendor contracts, serve as the primary escalation point with vendors. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and monitor vendor performance. Research invoice and contractual issues and resolve discrepancies.
    • Proactively review, monitor and report on the vendor ’s overall fulfillment of performance commitment obligations; ensure overall compliance with contractual terms and conditions related to performance; lead vendor governance process supporting vendor’s contractual obligations
    • Prepare, lead, and monitor, as required, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc meetings with vendors, Business Areas and operations leaders to ensure vendor and internal teams are aligned on strategic direction, workforce planning, consistent collaboration between managers, and performance expectations and strategies to improve vendor performance
    • Maintain current knowledge of key industry contract terms and conditions to appropriately analyze terms and conditions of contracts and recommend updates based on changing environment and industry
    • Develop and implement, in conjunction with Strategic Sourcing, Contract Services and the business areas, vendor goals and metrics to track vendor performance against stated objectives and ensure compliance with existing agreements
    • Utilize vendor risk profile methodology and monitor vendor performance to identify and manage risks, to recognize strategic growth opportunities, and to deliver innovative solutions that support business goals
    • Serves as the escalation point for all contractual issues and disputes
    • Act as a resource for Strategic Sourcing team members and stakeholders across the organization by educating on standards, policies and procedures
    • Contribute to the development of more junior vendor manager team members by providing direction and guidance
    • Provide active leadership to educate internal stakeholders on ethical vendor management behavior and compliance with ACT’s policies and procedures




    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education or business administration or technology area
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired



    • At least 7 years of progressive responsibilities related to successful day-to-day vendor performance and delivery management administration
    • Experience with vendor identification, selection and the negotiation process
    • Experience in technology field or with technology processes
    • Track record of successful negotiations and relationship management
    • 3 years of successful experience leading complex projects or programs, working with high degree of autonomy
    • Experience with executive level communications
    • Data analytics experience preferred
