    Responsibilities

    The Director, Workforce Products is an innovative and entrepreneurial leader responsible for directing the Workforce product portfolio, which includes (i) implementing strategic Workforce solutions spanning multiple markets, channels, and technologies; (ii) evaluating business opportunities; and (iii) leading a team committed to delivering high quality product experiences to customers and supporting the discipline of best practices in the management educational technology and Workforce products. As a working leader, the Director is also responsible for driving strategy and development activities for individual products as required.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Typical work-related activities include:

    • Lead the team to continually refine product vision and roadmaps based on our strategy and investment priorities
    • Leverage market research, competitive intelligence, and user experience research capabilities to reflect the voice of the customer in all product roadmaps
    • Lead efforts across our Workforce product roadmaps to ensure all stakeholder voices are heard and clear priorities are set for development teams
    • Lead the team to improve the efficacy of our products by defining, measuring, and improving our impact on key Workforce and business outcomes
    • Clearly communicate product business cases to the team and stakeholders, articulating both the product’s value proposition as well as defining and measuring metrics for its success
    • Identify strategic partnership opportunities which can accelerate speed-to-market, market reach and lower internal development costs.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and competitive analyses to identify new opportunities and initiatives which ultimately serve the long-term product strategy
    • Maintain a current knowledge of product trends and needs assessment. Analyze competitive strategy.
    • Identify enhancements to products as well as additional revenue channels.
    • Build deep expertise and empathy for the customers and learners that use our curriculum, services, and software products
    • Develop a high performing team by attracting and retaining capable individuals and regularly evaluating performance

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related area required
    • Master’s degree preferred
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

     

    Experience:

    • Minimum seven years of progressively responsible management experience, in educational product management, development, marketing, or sales
    • Leadership role in product management, marketing, or sales for an educational technology product required
    • Familiarity with Pragmatic Marketing Framework a plus
    • Previous experience and demonstrated success leading, managing, and building teams required

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to be successful in an environment that emphasizes moving fast and operating within limited budgets
    • Strategic understanding of education and the educational services industry; ability to work successfully with agencies, associations, foundations, and other organizations
    • Ability to handle multiple complex projects and issues associated with product development, management, marketing, sales, procurement, legal, compliance, and policy fronts
    • Understanding of multiple aspects of the education market, including some combination of enrollment management, assessment (admission, placement, outcomes), academic affairs, teacher education, advising, accountability, or accreditation
    • Ability to attract talent, build effective teams, and direct others
    • Strong analytical skills and decision quality
    • Willingness to travel as required
    • Superior writing and presentation skills
    • History of successfully developing and implementing strategic plans
    • Strong financial acumen
    • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, business planning, and communication skills
