    Responsibilities

    The ACT Content Curators are responsible for offering expertise in subject and standard areas. Their primary assignment involves making accurate alignment of resources to the relevant national and international standards. In addition, the position must effectively associate and attach resources to assessment items. It is also responsible for discovering new content to fill contact gaps and evaluating the quality of resources available to users.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Typical work-related activities include:

    • Deep knowledge of and appreciation for K-12 Science and STEM subject areas
    • Develop an in-depth working knowledge of all groups of standards in Science, including the ACT Holistic Framework
    • Provide subject-matter expertise for recommendation and acquisition of new content
    • Maintain accurate curation of existing assets in the catalog
    • Validate new standard alignment suggestions provided by machine learning in a timely manner
    • Navigate and support the ACT Academy website as an expert user
    • Build and edit assessments with attached resources using the question builder
    • Gain working knowledge of ACT products as pertains to integrations with learning resources
    • Identify unexpected behaviors on the website and work towards solution
    • Collaborate as needed in a fast-paced agile environment

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Science field required
    • Master’s degree preferred
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

    Experience:

    • Minimum of three years’ teaching experience with a professional credential
    • Continued practice and engagement within science 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

    • In-depth knowledge and critical thinking of all areas of science a must
    • Familiarity with website technologies and digital tools, including the ability to identify bugs and work towards identifying a resolution
    • Dedicated work ethic and capacity to perform independently
