    Responsibilities

    Position objective: The Digital Workplace Technology Specialist develops, implements and manages technology services and solutions for ACT’s on-site conference center, conference rooms and workspaces across ACT’s multiple buildings and works closely with IT and the Corporate Services team, working with team members and leaders across the organization. This position is focused on video conferencing needs, assisting with network configuration, serving as initial point of contact for all workplace technology and event related facility set up services, and also managing reservation approvals for the on-site conference center.

    Typical work-related activities include:

    • Assess ACT’s Workplace technology, evaluate rationalization opportunities, sourcing options/economic models, and recommend strategic direction
    • Assist in defining strategies, roadmaps, policies and standards for end user workplace technology and mobility solutions
    • Lead in planning, design, build and implementation of end user technical solutions and relevant operational processes as per the defined strategy and roadmap
    • Lead in vendor selection and management for end user services including the installation, configuration, delivery, maintenance and monitoring of components and services, in accordance with defined roadmaps, strategies, policies and standards
    • Provide project and program management functions for end user service improvements and transformation programs
    • Evaluate and mitigate risk on new and existing transformation programs and ability to do cost analysis, using standard financial concepts, to determine the impacts of technical decisions
    • Responsible for preparing, configuring, maintaining and diagnosing audiovisual hardware and software components and digital workplace systems for ACT’s on-site conference center, conference rooms, and workspace
    • Maintain audio, video, control systems, video conferencing, and Clickshare equipment
    • Troubleshoot and support resolution of network and audiovisual issues
    • Develop content and provide support for and training to all end users as required

    Qualifications

     

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Computer Science, MIS or Engineering Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
    • Ability to obtain industry technical certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or other value added technology certifications

     

     

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of related experience including workplace/end user service design and management, commercial digital workplace software (web-based collaboration tools) and equipment (audiovisual, presence, BAS, lighting)
    • Experience with enterprise network technologies such as cabling, switches, configuration
    • Project management experience preferred.
    • Technology consulting experience working for a large organization helpful

     

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Extensive knowledge of broad range of relevant workplace technologies and tools such as, end user device management/support, mobile device management, and procurement of equipment and services including managed services
    • Must be solution oriented and creative
    • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
    • Ability to prioritize competing requests
    • Excellent technical, computer hardware and software skills, preferably with Office Productivity, CAFM, CMMS, CCTV, POS, system level tools
    • Detail oriented, organizational and multi-tasking skills – project management focused
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and dedication to excellent customer service
    • Ability to read technical drawings
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
