The Director, Product Development is responsible for innovative and entrepreneurial leadership in developing and managing existing and potential product concepts spanning multiple markets, channels, and technologies.
Typical work-related activities include:
Analyzes desirability, viability, and feasibility of new product concepts and conducts product portfolio analysis and strategy for any given market.
Creates business model canvases and value proposition canvas and concept documents.
Collaborates with key stakeholder areas and departments to build a product vision, build, and launch to market.
Implement data-informed product development strategies and processes and initiate new ideas/concept design sprint to identify new problem statements that align to strategic themes.
Develop voice of customer in focus groups, interviews, and surveys for concept development and a product ecosystem throughout product development.
Create cost-effective method to run, monitor, and analyze multiple prototypes simultaneously.
Manage and develop a team of program directors, product development managers, and product owners as well as maintain and plan budgets for new product development team and participate in capacity planning process.
Ensure ideation and development align with Portfolio Kanban process.
Innovate and explore new technology partnerships for new concepts to ensure earliest possible release to market.
Work with internal teams and external groups to field test new product prototypes for feedback, analysis and iteration of product.
Minimum Qualifications include:
A Master's degree, or equivalent, in Business
Three years of experience in new product development or management of online assessments
Prior experience in project management and leading, managing, and building teams and with rapid prototyping processes
An understanding of the K-12 and/or post-secondary markets.
