    The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring all project objectives are met on small projects or pieces of larger projects by planning, implementing, and driving project activities. The Project Manager may also assist other project management staff with their projects. This includes completing the project schedule, labor and non-labor cost budgeting, scope planning, managing project issues and risk, as well as quality, resource capacity, and vendor management. This position performs primary work responsibilities with minimal guidance.





    • Establish and manage project goals, scope, schedule, budget, and define roles and responsibilities
    • Proactively follow up with others to ensure commitments are on track and stay on track; work with project team resources to ensure deliverables are met and approvals obtained
    • Create, track and manage project schedules; recognize potential slippage and new dependencies; work with project team to make schedule corrections
    • Drive projects to completion on time and on budget
    • Recognize risks and resolve
    • Proactively handle challenges
    • Find causes of and solutions to problems
    • Provide factual representations of project issues, package the news with next steps, remediation plans, specific support requests of leaders, and appropriate knowledge of the issue to be able to answer predicted questions (with minimal guidance)
    • Build effective collaboration, teamwork, and working relationships within and across departments
    • Communicate project status and direction by regularly distributing status reports
    • Proactively inform/consult stakeholders
    • Facilitate meetings



    • Bachelor’s degree in assessment, education, library science, business or project management, or related area required
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired



    • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience required, utilizing relevant project management methodologies
    • Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile experience preferred
    • Passage permissions or library experience preferred
    • Basic computer programming experience preferred
    • Access database management preferred

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    • Collaborative and able to work with others across the team and organization
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Able to communicate to the project team members and management the critical details without communicating the unimportant facts
    • Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills, including analytical problem solving skills
    • Ability to perform/manage multiple tasks and issues simultaneously
    • Understanding of technology and inventory management systems
