Serving as client relations community college market segment expert and strategist, this position will be focused on community college intelligence, trends, opportunities, emerging issues as they relate to go-to-market strategy. This position will have significant direct contact with clients including engagement with user groups. With colleagues from Chief Commercial Officer Division, develop and implement a broad branding strategy, extend ACT’s current visibility and establish new visibility in the community college markets to accelerate the achievement of ACT’s mission, market share, revenue and growth goals.


Typical work-related activities include:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate major community college campaigns in partnership with Marketing and PLM
  • Play a public facing role as a recognized industry expert on community college issues and represent ACT at conferences, events, forums, symposia
  • Maintain a current knowledge of technologies, trends and research in the community college market.
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of ACT programs and services and associated marketing messages and take initiative in researching, proposing, and championing new and better ways of communicating messages and brand value.
  • Consult on solution development initiatives and inform the development of new products and services
  • Engage with and/or convene user groups and organizations as appropriate
  • Serve as a representative of Client Relations on various internal work teams to ensure the voice of customer is heard.
  • Maintain contacts with national, regional and state decision-makers for community college services.
  • Communicate with external clients as well as ACT staff regarding community college market.
  • Consult with and occasionally join account executives on client calls
  • Develop and deliver market specific professional development, as needed
  • Travel to represent ACT, interact with clients and establish relationships with organizations and community college systems up to sixty (60) days per year.




  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area required; preferably in business or education
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.



  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related progressively responsible experience in the community college system including some combination of assessment, teaching, advising, counseling, career development, student services or accountability.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership and experience with a major promotional campaign, and/or an institutional reform initiative, and/or organizational change initiative.
  • Understanding of multiple aspects of the community college market, including some combination of assessment, teaching, advising, counseling, career development, student services or accountability.
  • Superior presentation skills
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • History of successfully developing and implementing strategic plans
