Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Developer Summer Intern will work with members of the Business Intelligence Reporting Team to design and develop transactional and analytical reporting solutions across a continuum of products. 

Typical work-related activities include:

 

  •  Utilize technical skills and business skills to conduct an in-depth analysis of the business requirements
  • Develop a design/plan for leveraging the best BI solution(s) by focusing on UX/CX disciplines
  • Conduct data analysis by writing relational and multidemsional database queries
  • Develop, unit test and implement BI Solution
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the implemented BI solution
  • Provide Post production support of BI solution by monitoring and troubleshooting issues

 

 

Qualifications

Currently enrolled and a pursuing a bachelor's degree  or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics or related technical discipline.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitiies:

 

  • Applicants should have a working understanding of XML, relational databases (data warehousing concepts), and relational or dimensional data modelling.

  • Exposure to Java, C#, C++ and/or SQL
  • Ability to construct simple to moderate SQL statements to query and access data
  • Possess knowledge or aptitude for business intelligence reporting and analytical tools, such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Business Objects, Cognos, Jaspersoft, Pentaho or Tableau
  • Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or MongoDB a plus
