Responsibilities

Have you ever tried to use a website or app, or play a game only to discover bug after bug?  Join us in fighting the good fight, while using your technical skills to improve overall product quality.

  • Learn tools & techniques used in software testing
  • Discover how to translate requirements into tests that expose problems in software
  • Learn how to create automated testing frameworks
  • Learn how to integrate with automated deployment pipelines and AWS

 

Typical work-related activities include working with others to:

  • Define test strategy and test plans and review them with stakeholders
  • Build and execute robust, scalable, and high quality test Python or Java based automation solutions for functional, regression, and performance testing
  • Build, customize, deploy, and manage the environment and automation infrastructure to enable continuous integration.  This includes fully automated build, test and deployment infrastructure and process for projects developed in Java and/or Python in AWS, including databases, APIs and GUIs; install and configure Jenkins, Docker, Selenium and integrate with Bitbucket and Jira
  • Run tests manually, if needed
  • Actively participate in design / architectural discussions, grooming user stories, sprint demos, and daily scrums to help establish a Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) approach
  • Recommend production or design changes to ensure quality and performance standards
  • Check for product scalability, reliability, consistency, and performance using tools such as Jmeter / Blazemeter to ensure the platform performs and scales appropriately
  • Leverages static analysis tools such as SonarQube to evaluate application security
  • Log defects/issues and collaborate with team members to ensure resolution
  • Prepare test reports, including track test coverage for both manual and automated tests
  • Partner with product owners and developers to identify areas for improved efficiencies
  • Maintain confidentiality, security, and quality of ACT information

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION: 

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Data Analytics, Philosophy, Mathematics, or other applicable field

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Required: Some type of past experience developing, writing or testing software either professionally, privately, or in the classroom

 Desired: System knowledge including some combination of Python, SQL, Java, Oracle eBusiness, HTML, XML, JSON, web services, data warehousing, VBScript, Mongo, Hadoop
